Several Local Stores Will Open On The Night Before Black Friday
Shoppers will be able to head out earlier than ever for Black Friday as stores such as Macy’s, Target, Kohls and Parisian are all planning to open at midnight Friday rather than wait for the early morning hours as in the past. Macy’s confirmed this week it is opening stores across the country at midnight Nov. 25 to kick off the 2011 holiday shopping season.
“Macy’s Black Friday specials offer customers extraordinary savings on this season’s most sought-after gifts,” said Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Macy’s Inc.Peggy Hayes, the marketing and promotions director at Twelve Oaks in Novi, which is the home of one of the local Macy’s stores that will open at midnight, said some of the other stores in the mall also have expressed an interest in opening at midnight.
